We’ve been pleased to welcome groups, tour operators and private charters to our Railroad since 1987. We currently offer seasonal excursions for groups of all sizes from mid-May through late October at the Granite State Scenic Railway in Lincoln, NH and at the Winnipesaukee Scenic Railroad with locations in Meredith & Weirs Beach, NH.

Granite State Scenic Railway - Lincoln, NH

The Granite State Scenic Railway is based at the southern entrance to New Hampshire’s popular White Mountain region. We offer 80-minute round-trip train rides along the Pemigewasset River from Lincoln to Woodstock, NH and back starting in mid-May and operating through late October. Your guests will travel in restored vintage coaches while watching swimmers, kayakers and fishermen enjoying the river during the summer months and the colors of Autumn throughout the Fall Foliage season which runs from mid-September through late October.

Winnipesaukee Scenic Railroad

Meredith, NH & Weirs Beach, NH

The Winnipesaukee Scenic Railroad offers 1- and 2-hour round-trip train rides along the western shore of New Hampshire’s largest lake from Meredith through Weirs Beach to Lakeport, NH and back from mid-May through late October.

Your guests will travel in restored vintage coaches along a railroad that dates back to 1848. With panoramic views of Lake Winnipesaukee on one side, and vacation homes lining the rail on the other, there will be plenty of photo opportunities for everyone on the train.

GENERAL CONFIRMATION POLICY:

The Tour Operator, Escort or Group Leader will need to confirm passenger counts with us seven (7) days prior to arrival. Passenger counts must include the Escort and the Coach Driver if they will be riding on the train. This count will be used for the final group invoice. If a group arrives with fewer passengers, the invoice will reflect the previously confirmed group count. If a group has last minute additions, please contact us as soon as possible so we can adjust as needed.

“RIDE-ONLY TRAIN” EXCURSIONS:

Granite State Scenic Railway – 64 Railroad Street, Lincoln, NH 03251

  • Join us for our 80-minute, old fashioned train ride through a natural woodsy setting along the Pemigewasset River which departs from, and returns to, Granite State Scenic Railway Station.

  • Join us for our 2-hour, old fashioned roundtrip train ride along the western shore of Lake Winnipesaukee which departs from, and returns to Meredith Station.

  • Join us for our 2-hour Turkey Dinner Train along the western shore of Lake Winnipesaukee which departs from, and returns to, Meredith Station.
  • Menu: Freshly carved roast turkey, stuffing, whipped potato, gravy, butternut squash, rolls & butter, a beverage and dessert (Summer: Ice Cream Cup / Fall: Warm Apple Crisp).

“FALL FOLIAGE SPECIAL” TRAIN EXCURSIONS:

Fall Foliage Special – Meredith Station – 154 Main Street, Meredith, NH 03253

  • Join us aboard our 4-hour Fall Foliage Special! We’ll depart Meredith Station and head north over Ashland Summit then across the Ashland High Trestle. We’ll continue our ride north passing through the Bonnie Brae Deer Farm and the Glove Hollow Christmas Tree Farm in Bridgewater, NH before arriving in Plymouth, NH. Our destination is the Common Man Inn & Spa located on the north side of town. Once there, we’ll step off the train and cross the parking lot to the Common Man Inn where we’ll gather in the dining room for a tasty hot hot buffet lunch. Following lunch, you’re welcome to visit the Common Man Inn’s Gift Shop which is filled with NH-made gifts before returning to the train. Once everyone has boarded, we’ll depart the Common Man Inn and travel south through Plymouth to Ashland, NH where we’ll stop at the restored 1869 Ashland Railroad Station for a guided tour. We’ll be greeted by members of the Ashland Historical Society dressed in 1860’s attire who will be our Tour Guides. Following the guided tours, we’ll re-board the train for the final time and continue south over Ashland Summit passing Lake Waukewan before we arrive at Meredith Station.
  • Buffet Menu: Hot soup, roast turkey, mashed potato, stuffing, gravy, butternut squash, lasagna, vegetarian stir fry, rolls & butter, coffee, tea & cold beverages and an assortment of freshly baked cookies for dessert.

“PRIVATE CABOOSE RENTAL” EXCURSIONS:
 
Private Caboose Rentals – Meredith Station – 154 Main Street, Meredith, NH 03253
  • Join us aboard Leo’s Party Caboose for a 2-hour private excursion for up to 16 guests. We’ll depart Meredith Station, travel south along the western shore of Lake Winnipesaukee to Weirs Beach, then continue south along Paugus Bay to Lakeport, NH. We’ll pause briefly, then return along the same route along Paugus Bay through Weirs Beach and back to Meredith Station.
  • Leo’s Party Caboose has tables and seating for up to 16 guests along with its own restroom. This Private Caboose Rental is ideal for family gatherings, birthday parties, pre-wedding lunches and small office gatherings.
  • Group Rate Tickets: $300.00 flat fee for up to 16 guests (regardless of age)

Granite State Rail Bikes – Laconia Station – 15 Veterans Square, Laconia NH 03246

  • Explore the Rails! Pedal our Rail Bikes along the shore of Lake Winnisquam, New Hampshire’s 4th largest lake. We’ll depart south from the downtown Laconia Station, once your tour guides safely guide you over the road crossings, you’ll be on your own. Pedal at each group’s leisure! You’ll be treated to the most up-close views of Lake Winnisquam! A Rail Bike is a custom made, 4 seat bicycle that has miniature railroad wheels. So no steering required! Just pedal and let the tracks take you away!
  • All of our Rail Bikes are 4-seaters. One seat controls the brakes for the entire bike. 
  • Our Rail Bike Trip is approximately 2.5 miles one way, and then back the same way. Making this a 5-mile round trip. We have benches set at the end of the 2.5-mile trip. Allowing guests to take a seat and relax by the lake before making the return trip.
  • A normal trip takes between 1 hour and 20 mins – 1 hour and 50 mins. However, a group outing on a day that Rail Bikes isn’t open to the public can be customized for the groups needs. Picnic Lunches can be provided and enjoyed half-way through the trip. 
  • When renting Rail Bikes, the price is PER BIKE. Each Bike seats 4 Riders. 20 riders will fit on 5 bikes. 32 riders max.
  • Group Rate: 5 Bikes – $145 per Bike. |6-7 Bikes – $135 per Bike. |8 Bikes – $125 per Bike.
  • Picnic Lunch: Your choice of Ham, Roast Beef, Turkey or Vegetarian sandwiches (condiments on the side), bag of potato chips, a cookie and a cold beverage. Also included, a Rail Bike souvenir pack! ($19.50 per person)
  • Regular Departure Times: 10:00am | 12:00pm | 2:00pm | 4:00pm (On days that Rail Bikes are open to the public)
  • On days that Rail Bike Adventures isn’t open, your group trip can leave anytime between 9:00am and 5:00pm
  • Rail Biking is a fun outdoors activity. This event is great for athletic individuals, easy going bike riders and more! With that said, all riders should be able to comfortably pedal a bicycle for 20 minutes. Evaluate your group and know their limits!
  • All riders must have closed toed shoes. Be at least 4 feet tall. Weigh 250 pounds or less

MINIMUM PASSENGER REQUIREMENT:

We offer special pricing for groups of 20 or more on days that our trains are operating for the general public. On days we are not operating our trains for the general public, a minimum of 40 paying passengers is required for us to operate a special train for your group. As an example, our Turkey Dinner Trains are always considered “special trains”.

COMP POLICY:

We offer one (1) Full Comp for every 20 paying passengers. To qualify for one (1) Full Comp, you will need to have a 21 total passengers. (Comps are not available on Fall Foliage Trains)

MOBILITY ISSUES:

If anyone in your group has special boarding requirements, be sure to let us know as soon as possible so we can work together to accommodate those needs to the best of our ability. We have a wheelchair lift at our station in Lincoln, NH and in Meredith, NH, but not at Weirs Beach. The doorways on our trains can accommodate wheelchairs up to a maximum of 24 inches wide. The Fall Foliage Special from Meredith is not recommended for Guests with mobility issues. Please call us at (603) 745-2135.

ON-SITE MOTOR COACH PARKING:

We offer complimentary on-site motor coach parking at the Granite State Scenic Railway in Lincoln, NH and at the Winnipesaukee Scenic Railroad in Meredith, NH.
